Stephen Harvey, Intern, DBT-Training

Unbiased Ally | Comfort Guide  | Sports Enthusiast | Trauma Smoother

Stephen is working under the supervision of Kim Koditek, LCSW, and has support, training, and ongoing consultation with our Senior Staff. He is currently in the graduate program at Colorado State University (CSU) pursuing his Master of Social Work (MSW).

Stephen is interning at Stacy Ruse Counseling Group (SRCG) and hoping to turn this opportunity into a full-time job, as he works toward his LSW and LCSW in the state of Colorado. He is actively training in DBT and EMDR therapies, and progressive trauma-informed care. He helps facilitate several of our DBT Skills Groups and sees clients at our Longmont Location and virtually online.

His interests include working with the LGBTQIA+ community, veterans, first responders, student- and professional-athletes. He is passionate about helping others navigate everyday life to the fullest, while using coping strategies to process emotional events, and overcome unresolved pain, trauma, and addiction.

Stephan spends his free time with friends, trying new hobbies and activities, playing video games, and making time for self-care. He is described by his friends, peers, and family as being transparent, relatable, and easy to talk with, which helps him enormously in being there and holding space for his clients.

His personal philosophy is that ‘life is messy, and sometimes you don’t get an explanation of why something happens. We are all able to achieve great things with support from people we care about!”

LGBTQIAA+ friendly. All welcome!
