LGBTQIA+ Counseling

Therapy Options For LGBTQIA+ Individuals

Are you an LGBTQIA+ individual feeling “down”, anxious or stressed? Finding it difficult to get through the day?  Are you experiencing mental health challenges, and feel that an expert ear and advice could make all the difference?

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, LGBTQIA+ individuals have 3 times more risk of developing what we “classify” as a mental health disorder, and LGBTQIA+ youth are at 4 times as likely to attempt suicide. According to Health Partners (2021), a rainbow health survey found 10% postponed care or didn’t get it at all due to disrespect or discrimination from health care providers. The U.S. Transgender Survey found the rate is even higher among transgender individuals – with 23% not seeing a doctor or medical provider due to fear of mistreatment. They also have findings from studies that validate 61% have depression, 45% have PTSD and 36% have an anxiety disorder.

There is something seriously wrong here, and we strongly believe we need to support our LGBTQIA+ youth and our adults, of varying generations, in providing a safe place for deep healing, authenticity, where ALL clients can be seen & heard.

The stakes are high. And you’re not alone. Whether you’re facing issues like stigma, discrimination, shame, or rejection, or simply the challenges of everyday life, compassionate and effective counseling may be key.

We provide a safe space where LGBTQIA+ clients receive professional support and expert guidance. We believe that Embracing diversity is being inclusive of all people, ideas and viewpoints. It’s respecting others. It’s being open and curious. And it’s promoting fairness and opportunity for all.
