Anxiety, Panic, & Phobia

Anxiety, Panic, & Phobia

At least, 1 in 5 people suffer from severe anxiety

The most prevalent types of moderate to severe anxiety are Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, Social Anxiety, and Panic Attacks. Additionally, severe anxiety is seen in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders, such as Hair Pulling, Skin Picking, Body Dysmorphia, and Hoarding, which are all characterized by obsessions, extreme anxiety, and compulsions.

Furthermore, anxiety is a cornerstone to trauma and stress-related disorders, such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, and dissociative disorders also.  Check out our page on Counseling for Trauma as well as learn more about EMDR therapy.

Individuals who are struggling with moderate to severe Anxiety have significant difficulty pushing away or ignoring their thoughts and fears. Avoidance strategies, reassurance-seeking, and in some cases ritualized behavioral or mental compulsions ensue.
